Moses would draft Tebow #1, Mark Cuban is upset at the NFL, and The Back Porch podcast!
Thought #1

All this Tim Tebow talk seems to be a little ridiculous. Sure the guy is a decent QB, and sure he can perform that last minute circumcision if you need it, of course, he's a great leader. Heck if Moses ran an NFL team, he would take him 1st round no questions asked. Unfortunately for Tim, I think Moses has been out of the game for a bit.

Listen three months ago, we were talking possible third round for this cat. He hasn't played football since then, and aside from a couple pro-days and some 1 on 1 time getting housed by Jon Gruden, what has changed about him? It's kind of like all the hype around The Jonas Brothers. Yeah they are real popular, but why? No anyone who has bought one of their CDs? Me neither. They are popular because TV says they are popular. Tim Tebow is desirable because TV says so.

The bottom line is that Tim is a 2 to 5 year project, at least. That's a lot of time to drop a round one pick on, let alone the money.

Thought #2

Mark Cuban is ticked off that the NFL scheduled it's draft during the first round of the NBA playoffs. He believes that it was unprofessional for them to do because it would steal viewers away from the post season contests.

Question Mark: When are they supposed to do it? Are they supposed to wait till darn near July to hold their draft, because that's about the time the NBA playoffs will wrap up.

Listen Mark, the draft isn't take fans away from the NBA games, its the fact that they last longer than most dating relationships. You would think that a league so tapped into modern culture would get this; we are a instant gratification society.  Think about how pissed we get waiting for the microwave to beep when we make popcorn. Longest 3 minutes of your life. We flip out when we sit for over 30 seconds at stop lights and when is the last time you actually sat through an entire set of commercials? You really think we want to wait 2 full months to crown an NBA champ?

A kid ask me today to tell him when the Cavs played next, I had to check the calender. What other sports post season is like that? Could you imagine having to do that during the NFL playoffs? No way!

Listen, I love the NBA and I love the playoffs, I just hate the two months, featuring multiple off days, I have to dedicate waiting finding out who the winner is. Unless those guys are walking from city to city, you really need to pick up the pace.
