Tigers master of his domain so far, Joe West is like a toilet, and test driving Jimmy Clausen
Thought #1

Remember the famous master of his domain episode of Seinfeld? Remember they all attempted to look temptation in the face and see who really could be the master of his (or her in Elaine's case) domain?

A lot like George in that contest, Tiger is proving he is the master of his domain this weekend. So far Tiger is rocking a 6 under par and has conducted himself in a way that made the questions swirling around his wearing of shades the only headlines for the gossip column. So far he is doing well in the contest.

Let's be honest though, how much temptation is he facing exactly? I mean he's not exactly dealing with the naked lady moving in across the street or JFK Jr. working out in his aerobics class here. It's Augusta. I'm pretty sure if you aren't over 50, from a state below the Mason-Dixon line, and wearing a monical, you've got to write an essay, give multiple blood samples, and supply various letters of recommendations from your elementary school teachers just to stand within 100 yards of the main gate.

This isn't going to be the place Tiger's limits are pushed. This isn't going to be the weekend where we learn if Tiger is Kramer or George. But it should be a nice launching pad for Tiger, and so far he's been completely impressive.

Referees and toilets. If either of these two are the topic of your conversation it's because they have done something wrong. Think about it. When is the last time you had a conversation about how great your toilet worked? Probably about the same time you had that conversation about how good a ref was doing.

With that said, it's defiantly ump Joe West is being talked about so much lately. Joe came out earlier this week and was very critical about the slow play of the Yankees and Red Sox during their debut series. Joe event went so far as to call it slow and embarrassing.

Not really sure what Mr. West deal is here. I get that baseball drags at times, but buddy you're on the clock here. Most people in this economy would love to get a little OT, most would love to get a little time and a half.

Where do you need to be anyway? Is there an early bird special somewhere you are missing out on? Are you trying to make it home for that Murder She Wrote marathon? Or do you have one of those going problems that I see so many commercials for these days?

Dude, mix in some Tivo, get some coupons, and take care of your business before the game. But more than anything, and I know you and all umps will struggle with this, understand this game is not about you, it's about the game. Quit with the drama queen crap and just call the game.

I think I speak for all fans when I say; we want our toilets to flush and our umps to call the games, both without making weird noises.

How much can you really learn test driving a car? You've got the salesmen there with you in the car so you're being super careful, using the signals for the first time since you're driver's ed class, and just barely reaching the speed limit for fear of that whole, you break it you buy it policy. No way you can really drop the hammer on that thing and see how it corners and even if you did 30 minutes in a ride still only gives you a glimpse of what you're getting.

That's exactly how all these NFL pro days are. You get a guy out there in shorts and t-shirt, he's running his abundantly rehearsed plays against the air, and some how this is supposed to convince owners to drop mad coin to hire them.

Just like with that test drive there is no way you can tell how that dude is going to hold up. No way you can tell how Bradford will hold up once Jared Allen plants him one time. No way you can tell how Jimmy Clausen will react when staring down Revis island instead that imaginary defender he owned on Friday.

The only real things these pro days are good for is proving these guys still have arms, debating who looks better is an undersized shirt, and making sure dudes haven't gone JaMarcus Russell on themselves at the Golden Corral.
