The LeBron-Calipari combo meal and Tony Romo makes a good decision
Thought #1

So rumor has is that LeBron James and Kentucky head coach John Calipari are the NBA's version of the Taco Bell $5 combo box. You know that one Charles Barkley is always pimping in those awful commercials. It was reported this morning that broker William Wesley, who is connected to both LeBron and Calipari, was working with teams and trying to set up a little package deal for the two of them to go to a single team. Of course all parties have denied this.

Now at first glance you kind of think, wow LeBron has so much pull he is now hand picking his coach. The more you think about it though, if dude was picking the head of his new squad, beside being friends with the guy, why would he pick John? I mean sure he's a good coach, but didn't do so swell during his first run in the league and his currently college track record is basically a mirror of the Cavalier's 09-10 season. Best record in the conference, high hopes of winning a title, and then dropping the ball in the tourney. That's pretty much the staple Calipari season.

Pretty sure if I'm an NBA owner I would rather pick part off the dollar menu than invest in this combo meal, well unless I can super size if for a buck, adding a side of John Wall. Might rethink it then.

Thought #2

Tony Romo made the news Monday for simply not blowing off work to go play golf, as he skipped qualifying for the Byron Nelson because it conflicted with the Cowboy's practice schedule.

Good call Tony. We've all seen how the two sport athlete things plays out for guys who aren't named Bo. We've seen how it pans out when athletes try and chase dreams in sports that aren't their meal ticket.

You'll try to do both for a while, then eventually convince yourself that your love of one you aren't that good at should supersede the fact that it's your second best sport, if that. You'll drop the one you are good at, try to make a run at your dream sport, and before you know it you're wearing a White Sox uniform for some minor league squad and aliens are taking over your former league. Yeah it happens, pick up a comic book.

Tony made a good decision here. He'll avoid people questioning his dedication again and earn some respect from his teammates. Plus I'm doubting Bill Murray is going to come to Tony's rescue in the 3rd quarter.
